What are Vibram soles made from?

The renowned Vibram soles are made from rubber compounds that are cooked or heated to alter the material and then moulded into a deep tread similar to one you'd find on a tank or tractor tyre. The original lug soles were designed to withstand extreme terrains like icy mountaintops and slippery boulders found on extreme hiking and trekking routes. You can be confident your Vibram sole hiking boots will provide excellent grip in all conditions.

How long do Vibram soles last?

Vibram hiking shoes and boots are designed to last. Unlike some other types of material, the soles don't disintegrate over time and only wear down as you wear them. How long they last will depend on factors like how often they're used, the terrain they're frequently worn on and the weight and gait of the person wearing them. You can expect them to last at least 12 months with regular use, and a lot longer in many cases.
